Control
At Harbourside Dental infection control is one of our highest
priorities.
We:
Bag and sterilize all of our surgical instruments and those bags
are not opened until the procedure is about to start
All of our other instruments are kept in cassettes. These
cassettes go thru an ultrasonic cleaner and then the sterilizer.
Using these cassettes protects our staff from instrument cuts but
also maintains sterility for our patients.
Handpieces are sterilized after every use.
Endodontic files used in the tooth are used three times and then
thrown out to ensure patient protection from breakage.
All hard surfaces are wiped down and then disinfected between
every patient.
Surfaces that are touched during procedures are bagged.
Headrest covers are changed between patients.
Gloves are changed whenever someone leaves the room. |
